   Angest Herre is a french one man band created in 2008 by Ensamhet, his style of music is an atmospheric depressive black metal with some elements from doom metal. Although the band is french, both names are in swedish, Angest Herre means Anguish Lord and Ensamhet means Loneliness.

   Angest Herre is the most original band in this genre, you never heard anything like this before and you never will. Angest Herre's music are composed of slow and melancholic riffs with the painful vocals of Ensamhet, everything is so cold and desolated.

Angest Herre songs are among the most melancholic songs I have ever heard, this band is one of those that connect with me more easily, is like Ensamhet really understands how I feel and what I think.
   I highly recommend this band for everyone, especially for fans of Hypothermia, Tristram and Trist.

   Hordah Blaästhiir is a french band that was probably created in 2009, the same year of their first and only release. There is almost none information about the band, I never find out who the members are and if the band is still active.
   Their music is composed of slow riffs and a melancholic piano, but the highlight is the vocal work, very cold and painful. The worst thing about this band is that they have released just one album with only three songs, and probably they will never release anything else.

   I highly recommend this band for everyone.

Burzum is a norwegian band founded in 1991 by Varg Vikernes. He is among those who started the norwegian black metal scene.

 Obviously all of you know the story involving the church burning and the death of Euronymous, if you are not familiar with it I highly recommend you to watch the documentary Satan Rides the Media (youtube), just keep in mind that this documentary is sensationalist.

 There is a rumor saying that Varg is not playing anymore, that is not true, he just decided to stop playing black metal.

   Burzum is the most influent band in all the black metal sub-genres and probably the most famous, I honestly don't see the need to say what everyone already knows: how great this band is.

   P.H.T.O means "percevoir les horribles tristesses obscures" that translate to something like "perceive the horrible sadness obscure", so obviously the music is sad, painful and obscure. This truly is a great band, but sadly they released only one album with just a few songs.
   Molasar, who played the drums, hang himself in January 4th 2011 at the age of 43, a few days before the release of their first album. After his death P.H.T.O and a few other bands created in his memory a french black metal collective called Molasar Dreams.
   P.H.T.O will soon release a split with Imber Luminis and their second album called Lumieres Eteintes. Also there is a music that was never released called psychose, you can listen to it in the band myspace (link).
   P.H.T.O released a demo in 2009 but I never found it, so I will not be posting it for download.

   Shroud of Distress is a German band created in 2011, so far they have released just one album with only a few songs. But they will release a split with Silent Thoughts, that is a solo project of (N.). 

  Shroud of Distress, the band name already says a lot about their music, everything in their songs are so distressful and sad, it makes you feel so hopeless.

  A lot of people say that they are Blackened Shoegaze or Post Black Metal, I don't agree with this, though there is some elements from this genres.

  I don't understand how this band is not famous in the depressive scene, their music is so great and unique, I recommend this for every fan of Black Metal. And remember kids... be happy!!!

NOTE: I included three unreleased songs in the download, they are Farewell, Moments and Stigma (Unfinished Song). And the band have made available for download a re-record of Life Underestimated (link)

   Sterbend is a german band created in 2000 by Winterheart (ex-Nyktalgia, ex-Krieg, ex-Armagedda), Asmodaios (ex-Nyktalgia, ex-Krieg, ex-Armagedda), Orcus and Typhon, later Akeon joined the band. The band name means "Dying" in german. In 2007 Asmodaios died of head injuries from falling down a flight of stairs.

   Sterbend is the perfect band for those who enjoy good crushing depressive black metal bands. Their music is made of bleak and depressive atmosphere with cold and anguished vocals. This band brings nothing new to the depressive scene but they manage to do a great work, so if you are a fan of dsbm this band is perfect for you.

   Trist is a one man band from Czech Republic created by Jan Šincl (as known as Trist) in 2003. It is one of the most famous and influent bands in the depressive scene.

   Trist's songs are minimalist, you could even say that it is ethereal, it is composed of slow riffs with cold vocals, some people would say that it is repetitive, but in my opinion that is what make his music so hypnotic.

   Trist is one of the most brilliant musicians that I ever listen to, his music is so original, and his pain so real, this is one of the few bands that I can really connect with, it is like he thinks and feel the same way I do.

   I highly recommend this band for all the fans of slow and cold depressive black metal.
